The Fire Horse Energy of 2026

A New Beginning Through Art, Energy and Visibility

By Carmela Ruggiero

At the beginning of January 2026, I felt a strong intuitive impulse to create a drawing inspired by the energetic symbolism of the Fire Horse.

In Chinese astrology, the Horse represents movement, vitality and freedom, while the element of Fire brings passion, transformation and dynamic energy. Together, they form a powerful combination associated with courage, creativity and renewal.

As I reflected on this energy, an image began to form in my mind.

I started drawing using my usual intuitive approach, allowing the pen to move freely across the page without lifting it. This continuous line technique is something I return to often, as it allows the energy of the drawing to flow naturally and without interruption. From that single, unbroken line, the shape of the Fire Horse gradually emerged.

Charoite a stone of transformation, intuition, and healing.

Once the drawing was complete, I moved into the colouring process. This part of the work is slower, more meditative, and deeply immersive.

Over several days, I filled the lines with vibrant tones using a mixture of gel inks, metallic pens, glitter colours and neon accents. The centre of the piece carries warm reds and fiery tones, representing transformation and life force energy. Around it, I introduced greens, violets, blues and golds to create balance, harmony and movement within the composition.

For me, these drawings are not simply illustrations.

They are expressions of energy, intention and connection.

Creating in this way becomes a form of meditation a space where intuition leads, and where emotions, sensations and unseen energies can be expressed visually. I often describe these pieces as small energy chargers: visual reminders that uplift our environment and encourage a positive, flowing energy.

This piece also marks a very personal milestone for me.

I decided to open a YouTube channel because so many people in my workshops, classes and mentoring sessions have always been fascinated by my art. I realised that it can be difficult to fully explain my process through words alone.

Over the past year, I began recording myself while creating. The same questions would come up again and again, and it felt much more natural and meaningful to share the process visually.

Through my videos, I invite you into my creative space.

You can follow each step, from the initial line drawing through to the choice of colours, the energy present in the moment, and the emotions that arise throughout the process.

I also share something very real: the pace of creation.

Due to challenges with my hands, I need to work slowly and mindfully. Some pieces take longer than others, and I honour that rhythm. I usually work on A5 paper, although some pieces are created on A4, which gives me more space to expand my expression. I use mixed media, adapting to the materials whether gel pens, inks or soft pencils which naturally influences the time each artwork requires. A piece may take anywhere from three days to over a week to complete.

The Fire Horse holds a special place in this journey.

For some time, I had set the intention that this would be the year I would finally create my YouTube channel and share my work more openly. I didn’t expect it to happen so early, yet in January I felt a clear inner calling and by 17th February, as the Fire Horse energy began, I had already started recording and creating with intention.

It felt aligned. It felt right.

For me, 2026 carries a magical energy a sense of stepping forward, becoming more visible, and sharing more deeply. The Fire Horse represents that movement: courage, expression and the willingness to be seen.

Through this channel, I want you to connect not only with the artwork, but with the story, the process, and the energy behind each piece. Rather than simply viewing art in a shop or exhibition, this offers a more personal and immersive experience.

Each of my collections, including the old series, holds its own story and has been created over different moments in time.

I am currently documenting these works in preparation for an exhibition next year something I am truly excited about. This process is not only about presenting the artwork, but about sharing the journey behind it.

Those who take part in my workshops, sessions and future exhibitions will not only experience the art they will become part of the story itself.

And that is something I deeply value and treasure.

The Fire Horse drawing felt like a joyful preparation for the year ahead a reminder to embrace creativity, trust your inner guidance, and move forward with courage and openness.

If there is one thing you can take from this, it is this:

You do not need to be an artist to create.

You simply need to allow yourself to begin.

Try this:

Take a pen or pencil

  • Allow your hand to move freely across the page without judgement

  • Stay present with your breath, your thoughts, your energy

  • Let the process guide you rather than the outcome

  • Even a few minutes of intuitive creation can bring calm, clarity and reconnection.

If you feel called to explore this process further, I invite you to:

This is more than art.

It is a space to reconnect with yourself, your energy, and your creative voice.

Much Love,

Carmela xx
